ULINK Adds SATA Control Panel in Drive Master 2006 Pro and Provides for SATA-IO Physical Layer Test Dry Run
Santa Clara, CA, December 13, 2005—ULINK Technology Inc, an innovative technology and engineering company, announces today that it provides supports of SATA Physical Layer testing system for the SATA-IO Interoperability Workshop. The testing system is capable of generating SATA Build-in Self-test (BIST) protocols for the measuring of the SATA interface signals. With the addition of the SATA Control Panel in Drive Master 2006 Pro, user can produce various test functions and test patterns from a click of mouse. These test patterns will be measured by the instruments such as scope and waveform analyzer to determine the SATA signal integrity (SI).
"With the high frequency signal at SATA-II 3.0Gb transfer rate, the SATA signal integrity becoming the gauge to qualify the SATA hosts and devices. The capability of reliably producing the consistent data pattern on the SATA bus will be the key of ensuring the SATA SI." Edwin Kuo, ULINK's Marketing Director said, "SATA Control Panel in Drive Master 2006 Pro provides the utility to generate the BIST patterns on Intel, Silicon Image, Marvell, and other system platforms. Companies can use the same tool to create the test cases from various Host Systems to measure the SI in the hosts and devices. ULINK's tool has provided the SATA-IO Physical Test Dry Run with a common test system for comparing the test results."
With the outstanding flexibility and ease of use, Drive Master SATA Control Panel can produce many BIST patterns described in Serial ATA Interoperability Program Unified Test Document. Various patterns are used to determine the jitter amount, eye pattern quality, rise/fall time, etc. SATA Control Panel solves the problem of generating these test cases automatically from Windows interface. SATA Control Panel can also generate SATA compliance data pattern from test system for measuring Bit Error Rate (BER) and other frame level characteristics.
ULINK believes with its SATA Control Panel the industry will benefit from its consistency for physical level signal qualifications. By providing this utility to the SATA-IO Phy test, the logo test houses as well as the system builders can measure and qualify the SATA SI accurately and easily.
