ULINK Provides Test Tools for the SATA-IO Interoperability Workshop #1, Feb 13–17, 2006
Santa Clara, CA, February 13, 2006—ULINK Technology Inc, an innovative technology and engineering company, announces today that it provides a range of test tools for the SATA-IO Interoperability Workshop (IW) held on 2/13/2006 in Milpitas, CA. The test tools have enabled the SATA-IO to perform the measurement and certification of SATA components and SATA systems. As an independent tool company, ULINK has gained much of the reputation in successfully designing and deploying test tools for the SATA interface, including the SATA Digital interface compatibility suite and SATA Physical interface measurement toolset.
"SATA-IO IW effort is to set the standard measurement for the SATA interface components. IW is focused on the interoperability of the SATA components, such that all SATA devices can work together without issues. SATA-IO has set a series of qualification requirements to be measured. This task of qualification not only provides the standard specification, measurement method, but also implements the test process including the test registration, independent test houses, and certification results published on the SATA-IO public website. ULINK Technology has been supporting SATA-IO's IW initiative from day one. ULINK's flagship SATA test system Drive Master 2006 Pro (DM 2006) has provided for design, debug, test/qualification of SATA device and host, but also built the necessary test suites for the SATA-IO IW utilities. DM 2006 Pro has been qualified in the SATA-IO as the standard tool set. It supports most of the host devices such as Intel ICH, NVIDIA, ATI, Silicon Image, Marvell, SIS, JMicron and many others. ULINK's SATA tools help generate the necessary traffic such as BIST FIS for measuring the signal quality on the external scope and devices. DM 2006 Pro has been selected by many test houses for testing the SATA devices. The SATA-IO IW test MOI (Method of Implementation) describes the use of Drive Master 2006 Pro for various IW test suites:"
"When the SATA-IO called for support of the Interoperability Workshop, ULINK responded with its full support to this initiative. ULINK believes with its detailed technical expertise and its advanced software technology, it will provide the best and complete support for this SATA-IO effort." Edwin Kuo, ULINK's Marketing Director, said, "SATA companies such as device, host, test houses, and measurement equipments will be benefited from the useful and flexible of ULINK's toolset. This ultimately will help SATA interface to be successfully deployed in the industry in the coming years."
ULINK plans to support complete SATA test requirements for the coming years, including additional test set and complete compliance suite, and host devices testing support. As an independent tool company ULINK believes it can continue to contribute to the success of the SATA interface by providing a unified toolset for various companies, host and device, and test houses to compare data, review results, and make improvements. With the standard test method and test procedure users can clearly identify issues and compare results.
